Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We live in a small agricultural town in the heart of the Central Valley. My students come from low income households and neighborhoods where crime is extremely prevalent. The classroom is a safe place where they feel cared for and valued.

My students work hard to take on the challenges life throws at them.

Many of my students are single parents or work full time while also being full time students. They strive for their high school diploma to better their lives.

My Project

The teens in my class love magazines! The Scholastic magazines requested will allow my students to learn about important topics that they are facing in a format that is familiar and that will help them be successful. The topics discussed in the magazines will then lead into bigger research projects that the students will work on individually, with a partner or with a small group.

While completing these projects, students will be able to use the stand up desks.

These desks allow the students to learn and work in a style that suits them best. My class is designed to be a flexible environment that is unique for each student.
