My Students

My students are eager learners from a small public school in rural Northern Minnesota. For a small school, we are an active group of students and staff who desire to challenge ourselves to stretch and grow to meet the needs of a technologically advancing world.

Our aim is GROWTH!

Our building is very old and comes with limitations, but my students always find ways to overcome those limitations and fully immerse themselves in a hands-on, project-based education in my classroom.

My Project

Standing is great for concentration and circulation. Good posture leads to better involvement and comprehension in the classroom. This alternative isn't for all students, but I feel as though there are at least 3 students in each of my sections of English who would benefit from the option to stand at a desk during class.

Some teens have grown too big to fit into the desks we currently use (attached chairs to desks, so the space to squeeze in is limited).

As an English teacher, I love to do group work and moving those hefty desks is a pain (they are very heavy) and a waste of valuable learning time.
