My Students

I am a k-5 PE teacher that uses technology on a daily basis for such things as student engagement, student data collection, how to videos, creating how to video's, teaching rules for games, movement through music and to help motivate students.

Our students are awesome!

I work in a place that the kids want to come and learn, they come from such diverse backgrounds, bringing their cultures and differences to fuel an enriching learning environment. We have our struggles with finding interpreters to accommodate the vast array of language represented in our building and with over 70% free and reduced lunch some kids come hungry to school. Everyday most walk through our doors eager to learn and have smiles on their face which motivates and drives me to be the best I can be!

My Project

My student will wear the camera to catch real life movements and skills which I will then turn into instructional video's. My vision is to have the kids use it to capture video of themselves using equipment correctly and to be able to show and teach others using the video. I also teach the student council and have started to empower them to create videos to support our pillars of character and they are actually the ones that suggested getting a gopro to use for these videos.

I am a big supporter of getting technology into student hands and allowing them to use and explore to build their knowledge of how they work and how to use them especially since all our testing is online using technology.

I believe giving them every opportunity to use/explore different technologies is for the greater good. Most of our kids come from homes where technology is not affordable so my job is to give them any and every chance I can.
