Mrs. DiMaggio Collier from Richmond VA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a projector to be able to use a document camera, view educational videos, engage in online interactive educational games and educational apps.

Each day we start out with our class song about what we are going to learn today! We spend most of the day doing centers with paper and games. My classroom is very limited with technology and the students could really use an up-to-date learning environment to prepare themselves for the future
Teaching in an inner city school with a declining budget can be very difficult for teachers with limited supplies and support.
My class has two computers; this is the only form of technology available in my class. My students are eager to learn and love every chance they get to use technology. With two computers it is difficult to share and expose the entire class to all the online learning programs and educational apps.
My students need a projector to be able to use a document camera, view educational videos, engage in online interactive educational games and educational apps. The projector will be used with the teacher's personal computer and iPad for whole group instruction. With a projector, the whole class can watch educational videos (ex. United Streaming, BrainPop, etc.) and participate in educational games online or using iPad apps. There are numerous apps for reading, writing, math, science and history, but with one (teacher's) iPad it is difficult for all students to use and participate. There is also a limited supplies of reading material for students in classroom and there are many free books online which teachers and students can read together.
It is 2014, and exposure to technology is super important for students who will grow up working mostly with electronics.
Students are even taking their standardized tests online. I hope that with more exposure to technology my students will be more prepared for their future.
