Mrs. Lawrence from Durham NC is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students flexible seating within the computer lab. The balance ball chairs will allow students opportunities to stay focused while completing their work on computers.

Students at my school are very diverse. They come from various backgrounds and cultures. Within any given class you will meet students whose grandparents once lived Mexico or farmed in Pakistan. Their backgrounds is what make each student unique. Some students come from very wealthy homes and others situations are individually different. Many students have two working parents in their homes and lots of others have single moms working multiple jobs.
At our school, we are committed to creating a continuous year-round learning environment that is holistic and hands-on in its approach.
We inspire students to pledge their hearts to greater understanding of the world; their hands to quality work and service; and their heads to lifelong learning.
Our students are in grades preK-fifth. They are exposed to multiple skills and approaches on any given day. Students from our school develop a positive vision for themselves, empowering them to become self-directed critical thinkers, life-long learners, collaborative workers, and responsible citizens in a global society.
My classes are forty-five minutes in length. Students struggle with seating in their chairs for such a lengthy time. With these chairs, students will be able to bounce as a means of moving without getting out of their seats. Students will have a choice of chair to seat in during technology class. Flexible seating allow students to choose to work at different heights and in different positions.
Research suggest that allowing students to move while working helps their brain to stay focus.
Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. One possible advantage to flexible seating is improved student attitude about the classroom and increased energy.
