Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second graders are excited to learn! Each day that I greet them, they are smiling and excited about the new day of learning. Unfortunately, over 80% of our school population lives at or below the poverty level. Working in an inner city can have some challenges.
Although we receive some money for supplies, it's never enough to purchase some of the necessary materials we need to give them hands-on, individualized learning experiences.
These eager students deserve to have all of the proper materials they need to learn and grow.
My Project
My students use technology every day in our classroom. The multitude of uses leaves us with the need for replacement items from time to time.
We have several Chromebooks, headphone storage bags, and printer ink in need of replacement.
Several new Chromebooks are needed to replace those that we have had for many years. Heavy duty hanging storage bags keep our headphones safe when not in use, and they keep us organized! We also love to create writing projects, research projects, science projects, and many other things on our classroom printer. We need to add more credit to our Instant Ink account, so that we can continue to print our awesome work.
