Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember your teachers using overhead projectors? Here we are in 2012 and an overhead projector is the only technology my students see in our classroom!
My second grade students are bright and eager to learn.
Their ethnic backgrounds are Hispanic and African-American. Sixty percent of my students are English Language Learners. They are in a dual-language program, learning Spanish and English. Our public school has approximately 1,000 students enrolled, it is a large school with limited resources.
My Project
My students will definitely benefit from having a laptop in the classroom! As a teacher, I will be able to connect them to our interactive math program that I have not been able to access. Also, our language arts program has visual and audio features that my students haven't been exposed to. I know that a laptop will be engaging and help my students focus on more creative lessons. This laptop can bring my students up to date with learning through technology!
Please consider helping our classroom to have access to our entire curriculum, not just the workbooks!
I need help to keep my students engaged and up to date. Don't let technology pass them by!
