The way that we learn language is changing now that we have the world at our fingertips. Help us get the technology we need to invite the Spanish speaking world into our classroom.
My students are grades 6-10 at one of a very few International Baccalaureate (IB) middle years program (MYP) schools in our state.
A large part of our IB philosophy is inquiry based learning and international mindedness. To add to the uniqueness and rarity of our school in the state of Utah, we are a school that mainstreams all of our special needs students, which provides remarkable growth and unique experiences for all students.
My Project
The students cannot wait to turn their cell phones into remote buzzers as we play games projected from the iPad mini. A whole world of language apps will be opened up to them, as well as apps that expose them to other cultures. They devour every morsel of technology that is provided to them and we are so excited to get this technology in our classroom.
It's amazing to realize how technology can knock down the four walls of a classroom and transport the students to any place or era.
Though it is a virtual reality, it's a reality that young adults must learn to navigate. I want to thank potential donors for your consideration in donating to this project.
