"Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids working together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important," Bill Gates said. Being able to bring them an iPad Mini to support my instruction will give them the start to being technology savvy.
I teach 30 regular education students and mainstream 10 special education students for a total of 40 first graders!
They are kind, enjoy learning new things, and excited about small things. I know an iPad Mini would be thrilling for them and very useful for my special needs students who need their instruction in different ways.
My Project
This technology will allow my students the opportunity to manipulate an iPad mini. Many still do not have computers at home. We only get to use the computer lab once a month since we are only primary.
Students need to know the importance of applications and how to use them correctly. Teaching students these concepts will make them more competent in the technology world. There are so many apps out there for primary education that are free and would greatly enhance the learning for my students. All students have been exposed to a computer, but very few have been exposed to a tablet.
I love teaching first graders and want to see them smile.
This iPad Mini will have such a positive impact on my students. I can have all my students using it and my regular education students can be role models for my special education students and teach them to use it properly. Students need to be advanced in technology in this day and age. In order to do that I need to expose them to as many different types of technology being used. I would love to surprise the class with an iPad Mini.
