This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach small groups of 6th and 8th grade students ELA, Science, and Social Studies. My students may have similar backgrounds, but each student is a unique individual with his or her own dreams and ambitions.
My school is a Title I school with most students receiving free or reduced price lunch.
We have a transient population with several homeless students. Despite the difficulties my students face, most are eager to learn and enjoy coming to school. I want to ensure my students have the necessary skills to reach their full potential.
My Project
I teach students with disabilities at a Title I school. All of my students read below grade level, and many do not have access to devices at home. However, many of our academic requirements have an online component. We use online educational sites that allow students to practice skills we have learned in class.
Your donation will allow my students to improve academically while teaching them important 21st Century technology skills.
These laptops will allow all of my students to complete their assignments at school. My students will be able to work on their own level at different stations, giving me time to work one-on-one with each student.
