Help me give my students the tools they need to be successful while they are diving into engaging research projects, as well as working intently on standardized assessments.
I am a third grade teacher on an Indian Reservation in Montana where we serve the most wonderful children! We have a very unique population in our school district. Many of our children are members and descendants of the Salish and Kootenai tribes, where heritage and culture run deep and strong and our children are our most valued blessing. In my classroom, our only school rule is, "Be kind!" Along with learning reading, science, technology, math, and other core subject matters, teaching children to be kind and treat each other with respect is the most essential lesson one can teach.
All of our K-12 students receive free breakfasts and lunches daily.
When children are raised in an area of low economics, it takes a community of caring parents, teachers, and mentors to bring hope, joy, and encouragement into learning environments for brighter futures. Our purpose and goal is to help every child learn that they can be and will be a vital part of their community, heritage, and culture by learning how to be successful students, excellent citizens, and future role models.
My Project
Technology is here and now! All students in our district, K-12, are expected to be fluent on all types of technology devices, and we need the right tools to be successful!
My students need computer mice to increase accuracy on their tests and daily work, and headphones to hear instruction clearly and enhance focus while working on their computers.
My children have the great desire to complete high quality and accurate work, and having mice and headphones would give them the tools they need for this goal of excellency on their work.
