Motto: Nothing is impossible. My goal as a teacher is to tear down the classroom walls and provide learning opportunities beyond the school, city, state, and nation. I want my students to have the skills that allow them to live in local and global communities.
I have the privilege to teach Literacy to 82 energetic fifth graders in a rural school district in a city of about 4,000.
Our school district may be small, but it is staffed by some of the hardest working teachers you will ever meet. My students are risk takers, innovators, and problem solvers. They are always up for a challenge and never back down. They amaze me each and everyday, and they motivate me to be the best I can be no matter what!
Thinking about what is best for our students is the focus of our elementary school. Each teacher goes above and beyond to reach and teach all of our students. Our teachers are researching and creating lessons that will prepare our students for 21st century learning. Most of the students in our school depend upon the school to provide access to the Internet.
My Project
"It's a small world after all"... My students are growing up in a society where everything is just one click away. My students need opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and problem solve with others beyond our city, state, and nation. My students are participating in a global education community called ePals. My students are teaching English to other children who are learning English as a second language. They communicate with their ePals weekly and learn about their daily activities. My students will be connecting with other fifth graders and discovering how they have similar interests. These microphones will make it possible to record their voices and embed them in their communication with their ePals. They will also use them for other multimedia projects. The USB Microphones and headsets will be the perfect resources to help my students reach out to other students across the globe. We are a global society, and I want my students to be prepared.
I want to provide learning opportunities for my students that will prepare them to see beyond their local communities.
These USB Microphones and headsets are technology tools that will tear down the classroom walls and provide opportunities for my students to collaborate with other children globally. These resources will help my students communicate and problem solve with others.
