Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are awesome! These kids come to school daily with a willingness and eagerness to learn. They come from various backgrounds and are always excited to learn how to work side by side with another peer to accomplish goals and learn tolerance for new skills being taught. As a special education teacher, I serve students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, autism spectrum disorder, Down Syndrome, and ADHD.
My classroom is a melting pot of different level of abilities.
The students I teach are 60% in a self-contained classroom and participate in an alternative curriculum as they are below their grade level in all academic areas and some functional areas. They are in the general education setting for two of their electives.
My Project
I am asking for Star Fall website membership with the reading comprehension games, math games online and headphones to use on the computers and iPads. My students love to play with educational games when they are finished with an assignment and they will use the Star Fall website membership in their workstations. This is a powerful tool to give more exposure to online computer programs that can help improve my students reading and math levels. I believe no matter what level of learning, your students need to have access to technology. By donating to my project you are helping a great group of students be able to show pride while working on the computer.
