I teach English Language Development to students from all over the world.
The district has been lacking in technology to modernize the classrooms to take advantage of today's new learning resources. I plan to use tech to help them reach their full potential and grasp content easier. My students are beginning to intermediate English Language Learners. Many students come from poor backgrounds and struggle with English language fluency in speaking, reading, and writing. They try hard to do their best, and seem to benefit greatly from integration of technology. They are more motivated to do their best work when engaged with dynamic resources that allow them to expand their creativity.
My Project
My students will use our Surface Pro to connect their learning to today's vast assortment of online and digital resources. With this technology, they will be able to present their learning in dynamic, more professional ways. Multimedia will come to life when projected for the class. Interactive clickers and apps will help students learn in new exciting ways that play upon their strengths, allowing them to build confidence and improve the quality of their work.
Many of my students are brand new to the United States, with very limited English.
New technologies, such as the Microsoft Surface Tablet, can really help support my students as the acquire the English language, in meaningful and creative way.
