Our class has come alive! We are using technology to meet the needs of all students in ways that we never imagined before, and we want this to continue--for everybody, every period, every day.
We are a fully blended class of 24 amazing students, each with unique strengths and talents.
We range from students with learning disabilities to APP designated students, and we absolutely love being together. The key to our academic success, in many ways, is making sure that each student gets support right where he needs it. Technology provides us with this support, and we are proving it! We are finding new avenues to help us learn and grow across multiple subject areas each day, and we want this to continue. We are empowered; we are supported, and we are encouraged by technology in the classroom!
My Project
There are no more challenging words for a teacher to hear than, "I'm bored!" or, "I'm done! Now what?" With the ability to have technology literally at each child's fingertips, those phrases go away. Students who master concepts quickly, students who need support, and students who are working well at grade level can now have further challenges geared at their own level of learning across all subjects. The Chromebooks allow our entire class to find immediate answers to questions, do research all year long, strengthen our keyboarding skills, practice our math skills at various grade levels, strengthen our spelling skills and enhance our vocabulary acquisition, read from a variety of genres each day, and create new and exciting stories or projects to share. Truly, the possibilities are endless!
Technology in the classroom has already changed the scene substantially.
Students are learning to challenge themselves by strengthening their skills across all subject areas. They realize there are places they can go to further their own learning, engage their creative sides, and feed their curiosity for new knowledge. Really, it's astounding, and we're taking off!
