Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first grade students come from various social economic backgrounds but most of my families have qualified for a reduced or free lunch based on their income levels. Instead of eating at home, most of my students eat the breakfast provided by the school district when they come to the classroom. It is a hardship for parents to provide a folder or pair of scissors for their child to use in the classroom.
My students are happy to come to school.
I think it is not only where they come to learn but also where they go to satisfy their social needs. My classroom is full of conversation and students are learning from me as well as from each other.
My Project
I am submitting a proposal for tablets for my 1st Grade students to use in the classroom. The Fire 7 Kids edition tablets are an ideal way for young children to become engaged with technology. The tablets come preloaded with software and a one year subscription to over 15,000 books and educational apps. What I am most excited about is the fact I can download books for the children to read even when the wifi in my classroom is not working.
I am asking for a Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth speaker to use with my laptop.
I would like to start using educational video clips to engage my students. The sound I currently have from my laptop is not sufficient.
