My Students
Students have different experiences coming into the school related to STEM. Many are interested in STEM fields in the future and become excited to engage in various activities in class. Biology offers multiple projects that encourage the growth and development of students in science. It is amazing to see the the interest in STEM develop throughout the year and witness students express more interest in such fields.
Students come from various backgrounds and neighborhoods providing a unique learning community filled with diversity.
Allowing for the different activities throughout the year brings new learning experiences to all students and allows each student to express personal perspectives. This encourages a rich learning environment that is respectful of all student backgrounds, building positive relationships through inquiry and innovation.
My Project
The use of computers is almost a daily activity in many classrooms. Students become very interested in science class and often would like to research a topic further. Many projects and activities also require the use of a computer. Additionally, virtual laboratory investigations are becoming increasingly popular. With these important aspects of teaching and learning it is essential for students to have access to a computer in the classroom.
Currently, the school is not a one-to-one ratio between students and technology therefore, students miss out on learning opportunities.
If the classroom had a set of computers it would make teaching and learning more accessible and exciting!
