Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The Global History Regents exam requires a lot of concentration, the ability to memorize, and most importantly think and analyze. But coming to school and being able to concentrate on only their studies is not always possible.
I have wonderful students.
They come from very diverse backgrounds, many first generation Americans working to create a better future. They work very hard to not only learn the required material but to be able to use this knowledge to participate in discussions and become more educated members of our society and the world. I want to give them the chance to focus on learning while in class.
My Project
This year we continue to access the abundant resources available at our fingertips online. We are historians on an exploration through time and place.
With our Chromebooks, we are able to go anywhere in time and explore.
We already have a few Chromebooks in class and through this project I hope to give more students one on one time to explore and research the past.
This is a Regents exam class, which means students must complete a state assessment in order to graduate. This test assumes students will have knowledge of World History from Ancient times to Present day. The use of the Chromebooks in class has undeniably improved our daily lessons. The Chromebook brings visuals to life, allows certain students the ability to work at their own pace (whether that is reviewing material or moving ahead) and so much more.
