This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from a high poverty area in Northeast Arkansas. They are not exposed to very much technology and are used to working with what they have. Most of them do not have computers or much technology at all at home. They are also mostly confined to the town they live in with little to no idea of other cultures and places. However, they are a group of thriving students that truly want to please their parents, myself, and just plain want to learn. They do not let the lack of resources keep them from meeting their goals and expectations, which is pretty amazing!
My Project
This document camera will make a difference in my classroom by making it easier and more convenient for students to learn. As of right now, we have no way to visually do a worksheet or read a poem or paragraph all together. I also have students that have serious problems seeing what I write on the board and with a document camera, I could zoom in and out to match their needs. It would make things much easier and benefit everyone in the classroom! It will truly make a huge difference in their education and ability to visualize what we’re doing in class!
