Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have a love of reading and a natural eagerness to learn new things and succeed.

My students are willing to put forth the effort to produce quality and highly creative work.

Children who come from homes where education is not a priority can still reach their academic goals and future success through language exposure, high reading expectations, access to technology and a strong teacher-student connection.

These elementary students are waiting for a productive year throughout their second-grade experience.

My Project

Most of my Title 1 students do not have smartphone or tablet at home. I, as their teacher, need to take advantage of technology and use it as a centerpiece for learning during this difficult time.

The tablet, through reading apps, will be used to encourage and motivate students to move from reading level to level as they strengthen their skills at their own pace.

I would like to empower my students as they track their success on the path to becoming successful readers.

My second-grade students will benefit from the tablet independent practice of specific reading and writing skills.

Learning and interactive games with the embedded assessment will give a fun learning experience to our class!
