Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from all over the city of Camden in New Jersey. Around 75% of our students are African-American, and the remainder are Hispanic and Caucasian. One hundred percent of our students receive free and reduced-priced lunch. I teach students who are currently in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. They love to learn, but hate to read. They are often frustrated by our lack of available resources such as books, laptops, projectors, sometimes even supplies! Please help me in ensuring that every child in my classroom receives the best materials and technology to achieve optimal learning.
My Project
We are requesting tablets, cases, and earbuds! They are essential to our learning success because lets face it we are kids and we love technology. Our school district utilizes a program called iReady to boost math and literacy skills. iReady is a great program because the program assess students individual learning levels and creates individualized instruction for each student! In order to get more students on iReady we need morw technology!
If we are successful in getting out project funded we will learn from the technology that has been donated!
We have so many resources available on the internet that we can learn from, but unfortunately we have limited supplies to access the resources available.
The students will use the tablets, cases, and earbuds to access learning resources. The students love technology. The tablets, cases, and earbuds will be a good motivator and enhance student learning!
