My Students

Do you remember the old box-like computers that run slowly and take up so much space? We have only one of those for our whole class to share. Our classroom needs new technology!

My students are fourth graders at a Title I school in Florida.

They attend a public elementary school of about 900 students. About 79% of these students are receiving free or reduced lunch. These students share very limited technologies and need more.

My Project

Having three iPad minis available to my students will allow them to compete globally with other students. They will be able to engage in learning at a whole new level with the world literally at their fingertips. While using iPad minis, students will participate in near pods, access Edmodo (an online learning community), and engage in some computer science courses, such as coding. This technology will encourage creativity, communication, and critical thinking.

It is no longer sufficient for students to have less access to technology than their teacher.

For student performance to approximate student potential, students need access to the newest technology daily.
