Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Third grade is such an important year for kids because it is the first year that they take the Texas state exam, the STAAR test. In order to get them ready for this test, I share with my students the love of books and technology. The students in my class end up being book and technology lovers within the first three weeks of school! I try to make my classroom as welcoming and technology friendly as possible!
My school is home to English as a second language students and a little over one third of the students are from low-income family.
My Project
The Chromebooks will aid my students in their learning in that they will be able to learn and research independently during class time. In my class, I am planning on putting my science and social studies on a website so that students can log onto the Chromebooks and complete their assignments! It is also important that we have these Chromebooks so that the students can become more technologically savvy as they enter into the 21st century world! I want to start preparing my students for the technology rich world now, in 3rd grade so that they will be set when they go to enter the world!
