My Students

My students are a motivated group of learners, always interested in using technology in the curriculum. The majority of my students come from homes that have access to one or more forms of technology. We use technology to research in my class and occasionally to help them study or practice skills we have learned through academic games. We also use technology to practice skills weekly to help increase our mastery of the skills we are learning. I have a handful of students that do not have access to technology at home, therefore they do not enjoy or benefit from the extra time practicing or being exposed to the skill practice. I would love to be able to provide additional technology tools for my students to be able to use in the classroom.

My Project

Each year my goal is to improve the achievement of each of my students by allowing them as many opportunities to practice skills as possible. One of my favorite ways to do this is by doing skill centers each Friday. One of the centers I do each week is technology.

Each student uses this center time to practice on specific websites and programs designed to pinpoint their academic needs and help the student mastery the skill.

Our school also uses the data to drive instruction and monitor student improvement. I would love to have additional tools to use (Fire 7 tablets) to achieve our goals.
