We are a low income, Title 1 school district in which resources are limited. Our school and community strives to challenge and engage each and every learner. Every student has strengths and interests that they bring to my classroom, and I love helping each of them discover their passion for learning. I believe it is my job as a quality educator to bring interest rich experiences into my classroom to increase and maintain engagement and curiosity!
My class contains 19 amazing first graders!
Of my 19, four of them receive resource services, and three are in speech. They are all earnest and resourceful learners, with a love of discovering new things! They all contribute something special to our classroom community.
My Project
The use of technology within the classroom is how we will prepare students for the future in today's world. Many students don't have access to technology such as iPads at home, and greatly benefit from being able to utilize and experience using them in classrooms to expand their background knowledge and technological foundation. Being able to use iPads during listening center will allow multiple students to experience stories at the same time, using them during a technology rotation during centers will allow for utilization of the digital portions of our math and reading frameworks, and students that struggle to demonstrate what they know traditionally due to physical or mental challenges benefit from being able to show what they know on a different platform.
