This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Isn't this 2012? Why are there no computers in my classroom designated for student use? My academically talented students need to develop their Internet research skills. We have finally rid our classroom of our old non-working computer relics and need new computers to replace them. Help!

My students are second and third graders in a class for academically talented and intellectually gifted kids.

They are so excited about learning and researching interesting topics. Our school has an eclectic mix of students from all walks of life. Many of them have no computer access outside of school.

My Project

This laptop will be the first of several I plan to add to my classroom. The students need hands-on experience with using search engines and finding important and reliable information on the Internet. Up to this point, they've been having to lean over my shoulder to watch my computer or borrow painfully slow laptops from another teacher.

This donation will make a difference because it will decrease the need for students to merely watch others use the computer.

They need to have practice doing the work themselves so they can learn to tackle the vast amount of available information out there.
