My students need access to technology such as an iPad and Chromebooks in our classroom. Most students do not have access to technology at home, and can benefit from their use to help their reading and math proficiency.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are walk into our classroom each and every day eager to learn. They love being able to engage in lessons that are technology based for reading, writing, science, social studies, and math. They love being able to transform into tech geniuses and explore new concepts by being able to use a computer, iPad, or laptop.
I teach in an extremely high needs area, where majority of students and their families are living below the poverty line.
Majority of the students do not have any source of technology at home.
My Project
96% of my classroom population consist of students with disabilities and English language learners. These students love to learn in engaging ways, especially with the use of technology. Because our classroom has limited resources, students with sensory challenges have a hard time with everyday assignments. Our curriculum requires students to conduct lots of research, and with my schools limited technology, this has been very difficult. The use of chrome books will alleviate this challenge, as well as allow students to explore reading, math, and science resources to push them to the next level. The use of the chrome books can greatly help with students building reading and math proficiency, as well as allowing them to do research on various topics. This technology will greatly help my students succeed.
In addition to technology, my students need access to listening centers.
Many of my students are not reading on grade level. Some students are reading on level 10,12,16,18 which is equivalent to first grade. The use of a radio and earphones can help students learn to read through listening centers and our online reading programs that are used in the classroom.
