My students need materials that offer hands-on and interactive components. The Osmo learning kits will help students across a variety of subjects. An iPad is also needed in order to use the kits.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This school year I am privileged to be teaching students of various abilities. In addition to special needs some of my students are also English Language Learners. It is my goal to continue setting my students up for success and I have set up this account to do just that. Our school is considered title 1 which means most, if not all, of my students come from low income families.
My goal is to help students meet and surpass their IEP goals.
As a learning support specialist, I do not have access to all the supplies needed to assist my students. I want to ensure my students have what they need to succeed and could use as much help as possible.
My Project
Our school is very lucky to have a computer cart and an iPad cart to share amongst classrooms. Although with over 700 students there are not enough to go around. Osmo is a educational gaming accessory that pairs with the iPad to give students added exposure to various education tasks. The Genius Kit is composed of 5 different games: Masterpiece, Numbers, Tangram, Words, and Newton. The Masterpiece feature allows students to explore their creative side by using fine motor skills to create beautiful drawings. The Numbers feature is all about math and will assist students with counting, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The Tangram and Newton applications teach students problem solving skills as well as spatial awareness. Words help students with literacy and language skills. The Pizza Co. Kit helps students with fractions.
Osmo, when paired with an iPad, allows students to utilize technology to help facilitate learning.
The possibilities are endless with the donation of these items! The addition of this technology to our classroom will help meet the variety of needs in our classroom. It will also help motivate students who need an extra push after winter break. The end goal is to help students reach their IEP goals as well as succeed when taking the PSSAs later this year.
