In our kindergarten classroom, we change activities many times throughout the day. Whether it be fine motor skills, alphabet knowledge, reading, or technology exploration, we are always learning!
My goal is to give my students a variety of learning opportunities; opportunities they might not receive at home.
My kindergarteners are eager to learn and create new experiences. I teach in a small town in North Dakota and my hope for these children is to help them discover and imagine a world outside their own.
My Project
In our school, we have an iPad cart that is shared. My day to use the iPads is Thursday. Sometimes, it does not suit our needs to use the iPads on Thursday. There are also times when we may need an iPad for a short time each day, whether it be for a state-mandated assessment or for pure enjoyment!
My students enjoy using iPads as a reward and listen to books, play games, and use it for academic skill practice.
My hopes are to get two iPads for my classroom so that we can use them at the times that we need them and without having to search for which classroom has the iPads on that particular day at that time.
I feel it is important to incorporate technology into lessons so that children can become more familiar. I know that the use of technology can be overused or incorrectly used, but I see the benefit of showing children the proper and appropriate ways to use and incorporate technology into their learning.
