Diverse, 6th grade Language Arts classroom where nearly all students come from low income households. Student engagement is a vital part of classroom success as students work to enhance their reading and writing skills. We are a highly energetic classroom with lots of technology, movement, and student choice.
Students come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and abilities.
They all have one thing in common, however; they love to have fun while learning. They deserve the opportunity to have a fun, hands on, learning environment.
We are currently limited to one area in the classroom to access the majority of technology used for instruction, by utilizing the Hue HD document camera, we will not only be able to view any piece of work on the projection screen, but also have the ability to Skype with other classrooms across the nation, with no cords attached! The mobile cart and stand will allow for no desk footprint and the ability to walk around the classroom while annotating a text, showing a class example, or giving instructions on how to access a website.
Another main goal for mobile technology is that you can record your examples and share them with the students later, using Google Classroom or student email.
This proves a great tool when reviewing content and is an amazing resource for the students to be able to access when not at school.
Overall, this technology will help make our classroom more interactive for students and will provide a great way for students to access past lessons.
