My students need an Apple TV and Echo Show to create a technology rich learning environment.
This project expired on July 29, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
The students in my class attend an urban district with financial struggles. All the students in my class receive free or reduced-price lunch. Many of them have experienced crime in their lives and find it difficult to come to school. My students have a range of learning abilities and have diverse backgrounds. The typical student in my class reads at a third grade level and many struggle with basic writing skills. Ninety percent of our students are African-American or Latino. The lagging opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among my student population.
My students deserve an opportunity to learn and thrive in an environment that supports 21st Century Learning.
There continues to be a slide in the school's budget, so any chance to provide them with relevant and supporting resources extends their learning.
This project will allow us to maximize the use of technology in the classroom in order to differentiate learning for all learners. I want my students to be confident using technology to reach their academic goals at school!! Apple TV will allow me to model for my students. The Echo shows will support visual learners comprehend challenging concepts in various learning stations in the classroom.
My students still have huge obstacles to overcome and using technology will support them on the road to success.
When students are in my classroom, it won't be that different from any school across the country. They'll have access to a few more of the resources that support them across the curriculum.
