Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second grade teacher in the city of Chicago. There are many challenges that face my students each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are from low-income families. The majority of our families fall below the poverty level.

Despite all of this, I am lucky to be working with a group of students who are eager and motivated to learn.

Their eagerness motivates me to find new ways to improve instruction. The pride and excitement on their faces as they are growing as learners is very rewarding.

My Project

Remote learning has come with many challenges. Access to technology has definitely been one of the biggest challenges we have faced.

Having a second laptop can help to improve my online instruction.

With a second laptop, I will be able to share my screen more easily and still be able to see my students at the same time. Also, I will be able to use the second laptop to use a program that allows me to monitor my students' online activity while we are having our live instruction. This program will also allow me to see my students' screens to help guide them when needed.
