Technology Needed to Learn Video Production and 21st Century Skills!
Help me give my students a video camera, microphone, memory cards, tripod, and a green screen so that they can learn video production and bring 21st-century skills into the classroom.
I teach middle school art, photography, and video production to an agricultural community. I have a classroom filled with talented students, but they are not given the opportunity to use 21st-century technology to create a news program that will show off their talents.
My students are learning the fundamentals of photography and video production.
They have astounded me with their talents but they need higher quality equipment to help them move forward in this new digital age. Showing them that there are lucrative jobs in photography and video production is my way of showing them that their talents can give them a future. Having a state of the art video camera, microphone, memory card, and tri-pod will help me show my students how to become successful 21st century photographers and videographers.
My Project
Being able to have the technology to teach students how to create art and have successful artistic careers in this technological age is as important as learning how to draw and paint. Although I have the supplies to teach fine art to my students, I do not have what I need to empower my students with the 21st-century skills they will need in the workforce.
Digital technology is needed for a successful 21st-century career.
Most successful artists in the working world need to learn graphic design, digital art, photography, and video production in order to thrive. There are many positions available to artists who learn to create art digitally. Along with the opportunity to have a career, this knowledge may also help many students pursue higher levels of education that they did not know was available to them.
There is no doubt about it, we live in a technological world, and any company looking to hire a photographer or videographer will require that designers have a digital art background. My ultimate goal is to introduce the basic concepts of photography and video production to my students and hopefully spark an interest in multimedia.
