My Students

My 16 Kindergarten students start their day eating breakfast in the classroom. Our classroom is their second home and most of my day is spent making them feel happy and safe while they are with me!

My students are my world!

I am proud to be a part of their lives, even if it's only for 10 short months. My school is located in an urban district where most of the children experience things that most adults shouldn't experience in their lifetime. These children don't have very easy lives. I would like to educate and prepare them for the world that lies outside of our four walls.

My Project

Many of my students need a lot of extra help in all of their subjects. Having iPads would enable the students to work in small groups during center time. They could interact with each other using educational apps that would keep their attention and interest in what they are learning. Technology is a wonderful tool to teach young children and is something that most of them don't have the opportunity to experience outside of school.

Young children like my students need to see what technology has to offer.

Providing them with iPads in class will allow them to explore and learn in a way that is fun and rewarding to them. I believe this would also be an incentive to want to learn!
