I have an amazing group of 25 caring, inquisitive, and very energetic first graders. Throughout our day, we can be mathematicians, engineers, writers, readers, and scientists! I try and support the unique learning style of each student, and believe that if they feel comfortable in our classroom they will be able to grow and learn in amazing ways.
Creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all of my students will allow them to work to their full potential.
Students relish the opportunity to choose their own learning space. By allowing students to make choices in how they approach different activities at school they learn to self-regulate, take responsibility for their learning and becoming more confident learners.

My Project
With the rigorous demands that we face with Common Core, having limited access to technology is doing a disservice to our students. In two more academic years, my students will have to take the Smarter Balance Assessment completely online with no paper testing.
This iPad and Osmo will allow them to practice typing skills on various applications, they will be able to review and explore concepts through reading, writing, math, and science.
My students will be able to practice concepts in phonics, phonemic awareness, daily math skills and many more.
All of my students will also be able to begin learning skills to become an independent researcher in preparation for the future. I plan to incorporate this iPad into our literacy and math centers allowing students to practice and refine their skills in fun and engaging opportunities.
