Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with an incredible group of students this year. They each have many strengths that I look to build upon each and every day. My students spend time with me in my room for direct instruction as well as time with their peers in the regular education classroom. The students are full of smiles, laughs, sometimes tears, but we focus on ending each day with a smile. Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are. Incorporating fun hands-on activities into their learning, accompanied with visual supports, will help increase their learning and mastery of new concepts in both reading and math.
My Project
The materials I have selected will help heighten each child's strengths and allow them to be hands-on learners. My students often have difficulty sustaining attention, keeping a safe body, and demonstrating their understanding of new concepts.
By incorporating learning puzzles, technology, books, and more each student will have multiple ways to show me just how smart they are!
The technology holder will be used to house our tablets and headphones, which the children love to use daily. The puzzles selected will help build on math skills and provide visual models for learning. Teacher materials selected will provide more visual supports of goals and objectives we strive to achieve each and every day!
