Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help me provide my students with the necessary materials that will support their education by learning using technology that will keep them engaged and more importantly enjoy learning. Currently, over 95% of my students are economically disadvantaged. This means that my students household income falls below the poverty line. There are many hardships that my students are experiencing at such a young age. Despite these hardships my students still come to school everyday with a smile on their faces ready to learn.
My Project
My students will be able to use the Osmo kits across curriculum. They will definitely be beneficial during Reading and Math stations. Also, as a teacher I will be able to use the Osmo to extend a lesson on writing, vocabulary, and problem solving skills.
My 4 to 5 year old students will benefit from learning using technology both in guided and independent practice.
Working at a Title 1 school presents numerous challenges. My class lacks certain resources due to lack of funding. By having these Osmo's my students will be able to grow as learners. Despite experiencing hardships in their home environment, my students will be able to find a new passion in school. These kits will plant a seed of knowledge for my young scholars. They will help in closing the ever increasing achievement gap at our school. Students will not be anxious when it comes to reading and math, and will be motivated to learn in these subjects with the help of these kits.
