Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a Title One school and over eighty percent of our students qualify for free lunch. My students are motivated and eager to succeed in their classes. Most are college-bound and will be the first in their family to attend college after high school .

Today's workplace requires that all learners are working towards College and career readiness and this is the focus for students in my classes.

My students learn the skills and dispositions needed to be successful in post-secondary education and/or training that will lead to gainful employment.

Students who achieve a grade of "3" or above in the end-of-year exam will earn credits for high school graduation and qualify for scholarship opportunities to finance their college education.

Exam success will help to enhance my students' chances of graduating from high school and furthering their education. Achieving success in school will motivate students to work diligently towards their goals and ambitions.

My Project

My students need Tablets to enhance their learning in the classroom.

Most of my students are from lower-income households and access to technology is one of our challenges.

At the present time, students do not have access to computers in the classroom. Moreover, some students do not have access to computers at home.

The tablets will enable my students to have access to on-line test prep, textbooks, content-related activities, and much more.

The tablets will make a tremendous difference to my students learning experience and help them to achieve exam success.
