This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a classroom full of eager, smart, and caring students who love to learn in and out of the classroom! When technology comes their way, they show no fear in experimenting with something new. I love watching my students try new things and become the experts on what was once a foreign territory to them.

The impact of interrupted learning as a result of COVID-19 has played a major role in the students’ social, emotional, and mental well-being.

Although there are things I do not have control over, I want to ensure that my students do have a choice and voice in their learning environment. Our students have recently discovered how much they can do with an iPad to learn new things, play games, and create through the use of software programs in our smart lab. They have loved it so much that they requested an iPad for our classroom projects! They found the use of the pen and keypad time efficient and were able to get more done when they had those tools available. As we continue through a pandemic-impacted learning it's important that students can show their creativity through different means. Technology has played an important role with our student success and I want to continue fostering a place where students creativity is valued.
