This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Imagine you are sitting in back of the classroom trying to see the details of an intricate drawing being demonstrated on a chalk board. Now try to imagine being a teacher trying to draw large enough for everyone to see and having to turn your back to the class every time you have to demonstrate anything. Both are impossible situations. Now imagine you are in a class where you are trying to work on a college level so you can receive college credit and have the challenges listed above. These are the issues faced by me and my AP Art students everyday
In today's world technology can give students advantages and opportunities that are not competitive edges anymore but necessities in today's world. For students to have all the advantages in preparing for college technology is a must have even for art. For my students to receive the grades to get the college credit for my class they need access to technology like this camera. This will increase their accessibility to me and what I can show them. The more detail they can see as I work the better art work they produce.
With the Vision Viewer camera I can draw in a 5"x5" area facing my students while they can see what I am doing on a 4' screen. They will be able to see every mark made on the paper from anywhere in the classroom.
This kind of technology is what will give my students the advantage they need to work on a college level. You are the key to unlocking the full potential in the next generation of artists.
