This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are tomorrow's future leaders despite what they have done or where they come from. Geographically, my students live in one of the poorest and most rural areas in west Alabama.
About 95% of the students within out district qualify for free or reduced lunch.
Unfortunately, there aren't many resources within the community or surrounding communities for young people to interact positively. The majority of my students want to succeed; however, the various influences surrounding them sometimes make it difficult.
My Project
This project allows each student to have access to a laptop during instruction. Currently, we only have three working laptops. If you can imagine, it is very difficult to complete assignments when technology is needed. To accommodate, we rotate the laptops so that each student gets access.
Although my students are in an alternative school setting, technology still is the force behind our daily instruction.
My students create projects, conduct and write research papers, and practice important skills by using online math and reading programs to serve as a reinforcement tool.
Your contribution to this project is very much needed as well appreciated. We thank you in advance!!!!
