It is important for kids to have fun and be challenged at the same time. My students move through center rotations for Math and Language Arts on a daily basis. They love technology, but it is limited in our school.
My class consists of 25 amazing students with a variety of personalities.
I just started a 4th and 5th grade looping cycle with my students, which means I will have them in my class for the next two years. I am excited to go on this 2 year journey with them.
We are a Title One school, with a free and reduced lunch program. Our school is located close to a military base, which is why some of my students have parents in the military. I feel very fortunate to have a class that comes to school excited and ready to learn everyday.
My students love working with technology, but it is limited because we only have 2 working computers with 25 students. Our school does not have a computer class either. It would be the icing on a cake to have this project completed and my students be able to use technology on a daily basis.
My Project
My students will increase their learning by being able to use these Acer Chromebooks on a daily basis for research on projects, Math skill practice, Language Arts skill practice, testing practice and other assignments. For example, the students will be able to go onto a Math program called Tenmarks, in order to practice Math concepts that are taught in class. Also, when we do research for our projects, they will be able to use the Acer Chromebooks to access the Internet.
My project will make a difference because our children are in a time where technology is the future.
Our children are the future. They will be able to use technology in a way that will help them increase their knowledge on a variety of subjects. Also, the excitement that they have for learning will continue to increase when they are able use such an amazing, fun tool.
