This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, all students are valued as important individuals. We are a school in Victoria Independent School District and we are a Title I school. We have formed a very tight bond and community with one another through the tragedy of Hurricane Harvey. Some of the kindergarten and first grade students were severely impacted and are now considered homeless because of it's destruction. Our desire as a staff is to be the best educator I can be to provide these children with hands-on experiences and learning opportunities that may empower them to become lifelong learners.
My Project
Providing my students with one-to-one technology will significantly impact my student's learning and improve their school lives. Technology, like iPads, is a resource that not all students are able to have at their own disposal. There are many students who have only touched an iPad at school. Incorporating technology in the classroom impacts student learning because it allows them to take control. Students are also more engaged with technology which will also directly help the improvement of student learning. Technology in the hands of children is something that will never change. Allowing students to get their hands on technology though learning at an early age will help them as they get older and not only improve their school lives, but their personal lives as well.
