This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My girls are amazing. They are leading ladies of Baltimore city. My girls attend an all-girls charter school in Baltimore city and our mission is to create future leaders. We strive to give our girls the support and knowledge to make it to and through college. Our girls come from every zip code in Baltimore city and most come from challenging backgrounds.

I teach at a public charter school for young leaders.

Unfortunately, budgets don't allow us to provide everything. My students do not come from wealthy backgrounds and many struggle to have the basic necessities. When it comes to materials for school, such as novels for class use, they have a very hard time with acquiring these materials. I would love to be able to provide at least a class set of the "Girls Rising" novel to offer to my students who are unable to purchase their own copy of the novel.

My Project

I am requesting the opportunity to bring optical mice into my classroom to aid in teaching computer science and technology. The optical mice will allow me to help my students have a technology source to utilize in their assignments for my foundations of technology course. I am confident that the optical mice will help me to become an even more effective technology teacher. Optical mice will benefit my students for years to come.

The knowledge gained from this unique experience will directly impact the success of my students.

Many of my students' strengths in the area of technology is growing, however, their financial literacy skills are not as strong and many do not know how to write cover letters, write resumes, create a personal budget or file their taxes. Your generous donation will directly impact my students.
