My Students

Technology is constantly updating, why shouldn't my students? Most of my students only get a chance on the computer when they are in the classroom. My students live in the inner city. They need as many opportunities as possible to be exposed to literacy especially using technology.

First grade is an important stepping stone in every child's education!

My students are learning how to read. I want them to love to read and be excited about the process. In order for this to happen, I need to make reading fun, exciting and interactive!

My Project

We are requesting Kindles for a Literacy/ Technology center. This will be so helpful and enjoyable for both my struggling readers and my on level readers. Unfortunately, computer time and supplies are very limited at our school. These Kindles will help them during center time to practice necessary skills in language arts/ literacy in a manner that will help them achieve that technology support they need.

I can only imagine my students' reaction and faces of amazement if they get a Kindle.

With Kindles my students will be able to have an important piece of technology that is necessary for their futures! I wish for my students to enjoy reading and enjoy learning! Considering all of their outside struggles, I want them to always rely on me and feel safe and comfortable in my classroom. I feel like these children deserve the opportunity to see technology if not in their homes, then in my classroom!
