Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a loving group of kindergarten students that make me excited to come to school everyday. I teach at a public school where 98% of students are socioeconomically disadvantaged and more than 80% of them are English language learners.

Despite the limited resources my students have at home, my students love learning and get excited to learn about anything and everything.

Many of my students do not live with their parents or live in a multi household. Several of my students are being raised by their grandparents, since many of their parents are on the streets. My heart breaks whenever I hear about their family situation. Despite this, my students are positive and come to school with a smile everyday.

My Project

Help give my kids access to iPads for them to use during centers. These 5 iPads will help students become digital learners. iPads provide students with hands on learning and are an engaging way to get students excited about learning.

Students will be able to use these ipads to play engaging games, create powerpoint presentations, practice their math and ELA skills, and learn how to use technology.

I believe that providing students with early access to technology will help become a digital learner, especially in this day in age where obtaining technology skills is very important.
