My students are creative, high energy, kind hearted and extremely funny! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think, collaborate and find solutions. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
I have 28 amazing 21st century learners.
They are flexible, brilliant, persistent, and passionate. Many of my students believe that technology is the driving force of their future. Most of them have been using mobile devices like tablets and smartphones to play and learn since they could crawl. They come to school everyday ready to learn using their 21st century background skills and knowledge.
All my students need an environment where learning can take place. An environment that allows for greater differentiation, individualized learning, real world integration, and varied assessments. They thrive when their tasks are consistently challenging, their creativity is valued, and their ideas are acknowledged by their peers.
My Project
My students are digital natives that thrive when they are given a tablet or device. Adding 4 Apple iPads to my classroom will generate new learning opportunities for everyone.
Technology allows for more active learning and will increase classroom engagement.
With the use of iPads, we will be able access countless resources for enhancing education and making learning more fun and effective. We will use online websites like edmodo.com for extending conversations and sharing resources, DreamBox , a digital math program to raise achievement, and ClassDojo to share events, pictures, and announcements. We will add many educational apps that allow us to create presentations. Some of the apps include, SonicPix and iMovie. Once the kids are ready to present their learning, we will use the Apple TV to mirror their Ipad to our SmartBoard almost instantaneously.
iPads will foster a collaborative learning environment where my students can collaborate, share information, and work together on group projects. The learning will be memorable and engaging and I will be able to provide instant feedback. Interactive technology makes learning more engaging. I want my students to become better communicators and problem solvers and thrive in today's world.
