Technology Ins't Impossible (Part Two)

Help me give my students access to technology and give them the tools necessary to learn in the 21st century

My Students

I teach a multi-grade Special Education class of students. The grade levels range from 3rd to 5th grade. We are in a rural Northern California town where over 70% of the students are receiving free or reduced meals. All of my students are receiving specialized academic instruction in the morning targeting their educational goals. Their afternoons are spent with their typical developing peers in the general education setting.

My goal is to provide my students with the confidence, and courage to achieve their goals.

Giving them the necessary tools to achieve this is driving me to seek your support.

My Project

Each of my students are faced with an increasing requirement to be fluent with technology. They will be asked more and more to use it as they progress in their education. This has been a hurdle for each of my students as even basic typing skills are a challenge.

By donating to this project, you are continuing to close the gap between my students and their familiarity with using technology.

My plan is to have my students working with Chromebooks several times per day in a variety of educational areas such as; typing, writing, research, mathematics, reading fluency, reading comprehension, programing, and assessments. Each time one of my students has a successful experience with technology their confidence increases. My students have enough to face in their educational journey. Having limited exposure to technology is something that we can change for the better.

This is a continuation of a previous request I submitted last week. We received the funding for two Cromebooks already! Let's keep the momentum going and help me increase the number of Cromebooks to where I one day will have one for each of my students.
