My students are AMAZING!
They are incredibly eager to learn and work so hard every day. My students have a wide variety of academic and social-emotional needs as well as very different likes and interests. Despite their differences, they all get along and support each other. It is inspiring to watch them in action. This classroom is truly a community, always looking out for one another. Many 6th grade classrooms get bogged down with the drama that comes along with adolescence. Not these kiddos! They are dedicated to learning but still manage to have lots of fun with each other! I feel so lucky to have such an amazing class this year!

“We need to embrace technology to make learning more engaging. Because when students are engaged and they are interested, that's where learning takes place.” Technology is such a powerful tool for students to increase their knowledge base as well as their learning engagement. Adding Chromebooks to our classroom would allow my students a way to practice crucial math skills in a fun and interactive way. There are many resources out there today to help students become stronger math students that thankfully are a far cry from the skill and drill worksheets of the past! In social studies, the Chromebooks will literally put a world of information at kids' fingertips. They will be able to research and create projects to use to then teach their classmates what they have learned.
Increasing students' access to technology will help them learn skills that will make them life-long learners.
For some students, school is the only opportunity they have to use interactive technology tools. There are still many kids out there who do not have access to computers, tablets or the Internet at home. It is up to us as educators to give them as much opportunity as possible to utilize this amazing resources. Chromebooks in my classroom will allow all of my students to soar as learners!
