My Students
My transitional kindergarten class consists of the younger kindergarten students.
Our school is located in a low economic area.
One hundred percent of the students are Title I and qualify for the free federal breakfast and lunch program. Most of my students come from families who do not speak English. My transitional kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning and always try their best. I have seen their language, social and academic skills grow every day. They have shown me that they have the potential to exceed all expectations.
My Project
Allowing transitional students to have computer time can be beneficial because computer use introduces educational skills, increases self-esteem and self-confidence and prepares them to be 21 Century learners in a world driven by technology.
Students will be able to work on the computer independently or with a partner.
The software will give the children the opportunity to type and publish their writing. We will be able to research and find images needed with a touch of a button when discussing stories, social studies and science concepts. This computer will revolutionize their perspective on learning as well as prepare them for the future.
